Summer is the perfect time to enjoy a light and refreshing cocktail, and barman Jeff Shaffer of The Steinbock Tavern in New Milford makes some of the area’s best. The local vintners at Hopkins Vineyard in New Preston supply the wine that brings these drinks to life.

Ingredients

SERVINGS: 1 Cocktail
  • 1 bottle Hopkins Vineyard "Lady Rose" 2015 Estate Bottled wine (or other dry rose wine)
  • 1 bottle white créme de cocoa
  • 1 sprig fresh mint

Instructions

Pour 2¾ ounces rosé wine and ¾ ounces white crème de cocoa into a cocktail shaker full of ice. Shake vigorously.

Pour into a chilled martini or cocktail glass.

Optional: garnish with a sprig of fresh mint from your summer garden.
