Vernal Pool Walk
Connecticut's vernal pools are about to fill with life! Vernal pools are used by many species and are essential to supporting the health and biodiversity of our forests. Animals that rely on vernal pools to breed are an important part of the forest food web.
Join Weantinoge and biologist Betsy Corrigan for a guided, hands-on exploration of a vernal pool. You will use dip nets to find aquatic insects, search for amphibians, and discover what makes the plants and animals of this ecosystem unique. This is a terrific event for nature lovers of all ages!
Be prepared for a walk over uneven terrain. We recommend wearing waterproof boots. This event is free and open to the public, but is limited to 12 participants. Reserve your spot by emailing: elizabeth@weantinoge.org.
