Did you know that certain honeys are in danger of becoming extinct, never to be enjoyed again? Spend an enlightening afternoon at Red Bee’s Honey House Barn with Italian-trained honey expert, Marina Marchese, for an apiary tour and tasting flight of Slow Food Ark of Taste honeys. Come mix and mingle with fellow Slow Food members. Donna Simons, chair of Slow Food Metro North, will be sharing her experience with Slow Food honeys produced in Hawaii. We'll harvest and taste fresh honey from our beehives and sample Red Bee’s own blueberry blossom mead.

The Ark of Taste is a catalog of foods threatened by industrial standardization, regulations of large-scale distribution and environmental damage. By learning about and eating these culinary treasures, we help ensure their continued survival. Learn the fascinating story of these honeys along with the plants, regions and bees that make them. This event will open your eyes to the precious nature of honey.

Net profits from ticket sales will be donated to Slow Food Metro North. All guests who sign up and pay for this event at redbee.com will receive further event details and travel information.
